How To Take Up All The Space

#LetsTalkAbouIt - Have you ever heard the phrase:  doing too much? 

I bet you've heard that someone was taking up all the space, as in they were sucking the life out of the room for everyone.  You know, that friend who killed the energy by DOING THE MOST and who didn't stop...who kept going long after things were awkward...

To be clear:  this is #ToxicAF and to be avoided if you want to get along with humans.   ​I know this from personal experience.

Yet, it is a very healthy, self-honoring, life-affirming, and world-changing thing when each one of us shows up powerfully in our lives with the intention of taking up space and allowing for others to do the same.

It's the...

• "you shine, I shine, we all shine" mindset.
  
• "there's enough space, money, impact, and love for all of us" mindset.
  
• "what's meant for me is coming for me" mindset.
  
• "Friend, we about to win" mindset.

THIS IS WHAT I CALL TAKING UP ALL THE SPACE.

You are special and deserve to shine everywhere you are.  You are different and the world wants - whether it knows it or not - what you have to offer.  No one sees what you see, hears what you hear, and can do what you do.  No one is YOU - and no one offers you - and the world - what you can.  No person knows what your song will do for you and the world; you develop that reality as you go.

​​To develop and express SELF is a great gift and opportunity for the individual, the community, and world.  Yet, as I hinted at above, there's a way to do it that allows for others to take up space too.  Others want this same gift and opportunity; you can choose to have yours while they have theirs.

My favorite way of thinking about this is envisioning that if I am special - so are others.  If I have what the world wants - so do others.  I will not see/hear/do what others can either - at least not the way they do.  Who knows what their song will do for them...me...the world?

When we take up all the space and do not allow others to do so as well, we are toxic and therefore, get toxic results.
