December Prep: A Poem on Self-Reflection

​GRWM because next month is finna be so lit!  Time to prep for December y’all…

My next blog post and LinkedIn article will both be on the power of self-reflection. As usual, I will be pointing out what people have twisted about self-reflection and some of the ways folks use self-reflection in ways that don’t honor them or their truth.

​When I was conceptualizing the blog post (on life and love) and the article (on work and business) #StayTuned, I was processing heavily about why self-reflection can be so transformative - and using curiosity to get to the bottom of why it’s destructive when it ain’t transformative.

​I birthed the following lines of poetry from that curiosity…
​...use this to prepare you to continue your journey with me in December as we explore the power of self-reflection to either increase your mess or your greatness.

​Peep the game, it's that self-reflection, a deep dive into the mind's intersections;
Where thoughts, emotions, and behaviors meet, introspection in the seat;
Step back, take a breath, analyze the self with no deceit!

A journey to understand experiences, beliefs, values, motivations: be complete;
Explore the strengths, weaknesses and patterns unfold, leave biases and stories untold;
Evaluate actions, decisions, the tale of the soul: a narrative to behold!

Self-awareness, the key to personal growth, choices are conscious, like an oath.

Through the lens of reflection, a mirror to the soul's collection;
Journaling, meditation, feedback's connection, methods varied, a self-inspection;
In the dance of life, a tool profound, self-understanding's crown!
