When you choose to “cook up” your Unique, Rare Solution™, you will need three key ingredients and three pieces of equipment.  Let’s explore what these are so you can develop or “cook up” your Unique, Rare Solution™!

GIFTS, TALENTS, AND ABILITIES

You’ve heard of the three raw ingredients you will need to develop your Unique, Rare Solution™:  your gifts, your talents, and your abilities.  What most don’t know is the difference between the three and how to establish them when they are lacking.  So, let’s break this down right now…

Gifts:  Your gifts are the unique perspectives and lens that are born of your lived experience.

When your gifts are lacking you want to do some introspection and reflection so you can discern what makes your perspectives and lens different than others around you.  You were born with gifts and have developed more as you’ve lived your life; so, if you can’t see yours - you need only find them.

Talents:  Your talents are the capacities you have developed through your lived experience.

When your talents are lacking you want to assess and evaluate so you can discern what makes your capacities different than those around you.  Just like gifts, you were born with talents and have developed so many more as you’ve lived your life.  So, if you cannot see your talents, you need only get clear in them.

Abilities:  Your abilities are the capabilities you have developed through your lived experience.

When your abilities are lacking you want to activate and iterate so you can discern what makes your capabilities different than those around you.  Unlike gifts and talents, you weren’t born with abilities and instead had to develop them as you’ve done things in your life.  So, if you cannot see your abilities, it is possible that you don’t have any that are meaningful to you or that you haven’t developed resilience in them.

Without clarity, confidence, and resilience in your G.T.A., there is no Actionable Safe Space™ for self or others!

DESIRES, VALUES, AND INTERNAL COMPASS

​Your G.T.A. is not enough to develop and show up as your Unique, Rare Solution™.  So, once you are clear on your G.T.A. - your gifts, talents, and abilities - you will want to mix them up with some equipment to cook up your Unique, Rare Solution™.  The three pieces of equipment you need to develop and show up as your Unique, Rare Solution™ are your desires, your values, and your internal compass.

Desires

Your desires are the whispers of your Future Self that tell you what you will need to know to get to where you are going.

• When you use your gifts to clarify your desires, you know what to be and do next.
• When you use your talents to develop confidence based on your desires, you have the capacity to be and do in alignment with your gifts.
• And, when you use your abilities to act with resilience based on your desires, you exhibit and demonstrate the capabilities required to be and do in alignment with your talents.

Values

Your values are the convictions of your Past and Current Selves that tell you how to become the Future Self you want to be.

• When you use your gifts to clarify your values, you know how you want to be and do next.
• When you use your talents to develop confidence based on your values, you have the capacity to be and do in the ways your gifts make possible.
• And, when you use your abilities to act with resilience based upon your values, you exhibit and demonstrate the capabilities required to be and do in the ways your talents make possible.

Without authenticity and integrity, there is no Actionable Safe Space™ for self or others!

Internal Compass

Your internal compass is the intrapersonal tool you use to navigate life, make choices, and take actions based upon your desires and values.

• When you use your desires and values to clarify your identity and next steps, you develop an internal compass for your authenticity and integrity.  Your authenticity is your truth in your being and identity, while your integrity is your truth in your doing and impact.
• When you use your desires and values to develop confidence in your being and doing, you learn how to use your internal compass intentionally and on purpose.  Without identity and impact that is true to your being and doing, you’ll be reactive or inactive with your gifts, talents, and abilities.
• When you use your desires and values to act with resilience using your gifts, talents, and abilities, you showcase and demonstrate an internal compass that creates your impact and legacy - personally and professionally.

Without intentional, on-purpose impact and legacy, you have not created an Actionable Safe Space™ for self or others!

YOU DISCERN

The first step in this recipe is to take your ingredients and mix them with your equipment in order to get clear on what is possible for your gifts, talents, and abilities.

You want to be clear on the possibilities that come from your gifts, talents, and abilities that will support you in your life, relationships, career, and business. 

I call this first step of the Unique, Rare Solution™ recipe:  Discern.

The second step in this recipe is to take your clarity from discerning and then strain with your desires and values in order to choose what you can be and do next.

You want to be confident in the possibilities you choose for your being and doing in alignment with your desires and values so you can positively impact your life, relationships, career, and business. 

I call this second step of the Unique, Rare Solution™ recipe:  Decide.

YOU DELIVER

The third step in this recipe is to take your confidence from deciding and then bake on 420°F to act on what your internal compass tells you is right for you as you iterate and pivot.

You want to be resilient in the opportunities you act on in alignment with your internal compass so you can manage the direction and legacy of your life, relationships, career, and business. 

I call this third step of the Unique, Rare Solution™ recipe:  Deliver.
